ISTANBUL, TURKEY — Oral-B introduced its artificial intelligence-supported iO electric toothbrush series and advanced oral cleaning solutions to consumers and professionals at the White&Clean Innovation Day held in Istanbul.

Aiming to meet the daily oral care needs of adults and children through technological advancements, the event highlighted holistic approaches supporting gum health and products that provide effective cleaning in hard-to-reach areas. Following the panel featuring industry experts, attendees had the opportunity to directly experience the newly launched technologies.

Shaping oral care through innovation

Nesli Kılıçal, Corporate Communications Director for P&G Turkey, Caucasus, and Central Asia, stated that the brand operates with a research and development culture spanning over half a century. Noting that their primary focus is solving real consumer problems, Kılıçal emphasized that delivering high-performance technologies sustainably plays a fundamental role in spreading proper tooth brushing habits.

Artificial intelligence and pressure sensor

Developed through more than six years of research and insights from over 1,800 consumers, the iO series stands out with its round brush head featuring over 4,000 micro-vibrating bristles. According to the presented data, these bristles, angled at 16 degrees, effectively eliminate plaque hidden between teeth. The smart pressure sensor integrated into the brush helps prevent gum damage by warning the user with a red light for too much pressure, white for insufficient pressure, and green for optimal pressure. The system, which synchronizes with a smartphone application, analyzes brushing habits in real time via Bluetooth connectivity.

Making brushing fun for children

The event also detailed the Oral-B iO Kids 6+ series, designed to help children develop proper oral care habits at an early age. Featuring popular Disney and Marvel characters, these brushes provide gentle access to areas prone to cavities while transforming the brushing routine into an entertaining game with built-in music timers and low-vibration modes.

Ionic technology for teeth whitening

The brand's Intense White toothpaste series, featuring innovative ionic technology, was among the highlights of the presentation. Experts emphasized that the system gently lifts stains without scrubbing and prevents new stain formation when used in conjunction with iO electric brushes. Actress and ceramic artist Yağmur Tanrısevsin, the brand's face, pointed out the unique experience offered by the electric brush, noting that a healthy smile is one of the most powerful expressions positively affecting both physical and mental well-being.

The link between systemic and oral health

Reminding the audience that disruptions in oral care are not limited to tooth decay, Dentist Dr. Ayşegül Demirağ warned that poor hygiene can lead to a wide range of health issues, from gum infections to severe systemic conditions. In line with World Health Organization reports on oral health, Demirağ stated that infections in the oral flora increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, advising individuals to brush twice a day for at least two minutes and maintain regular dental check-ups.
